Sorry if this isn't the correct space for this query - I couldn't see another forum directly related to my question.

I maintain a small (local) food & lifestyle magazine site with about 500 pages of back-issue content, and 100 advertisers in a directory-style 'sponsors' section.

The site owner holds monthly competitions - to enter applicants fill in a form, and tick a box agreeing to be placed on a monthly newsletter email distribution list. We don't provide or on-sell the obtained email addresses to any other orgranisation.

The site has approximately 3,000 unique visitors a month, and approximately 1,500 people have entered competitions over time, thus providing their email addresses.

The only source of revenue from the site are the directory 'sponsors' listings - which cover hosting and editorial costs.

Until now the site owner has never utilised the email addresses collected through the competitions, but would now like to launch a monthly email newsletter advising of the monthly additions to the website. The 1,500 email addresses are stored in an Excel document containing Firstname, Lastname, and Emailaddress.

Can anyone suggest a mailing list software I could use to send out HTML emails to these 1,500 addresses? Ideally I need to be able to load an HTML file (utilising in-line CSS styles) into the email software, and then have it auto-send that HTML file to all recipients on the database. Thus, presenting to the end user an HTML email in their inbox.

Ideally I need the software to be able to utilise at least both the Firstname and Emailaddress fields from the Excel database - so each recipient can be greeted with "Hello Firstname".

(If it's not possible to recommend software in this forum - could someone please advise what sort of product I should be looking for online? Many thanks!)

I use and highly recommend Gammadyne Mailer. It will send the emails in text and html, and the user will view either, depending on their email program.
It works with Excel, but is recommended better to use Access. You can import your excel into Access.
