I would definatly finsh the site before you try and add it to anywhere. It is also quite common now for web developers to totaly forget about submiting sites to search engines, and concentrate totaly on web directories.

If you get links pointing to your site then the search engines will be able to find you easily by following those links.

For this reason you should make sure your site is totaly finished before you submit to any web directories. If you suggest your site to a web directory and it is not finished, the chances are your site will not be listed. You can save a lot of time by getting it finished before you go submitting.

As for the url, try and get a web address that is easy to remember. Somethign that people can type in easily. Most search engines will rank you equaly, so the main benefit of a good url is user recognition.
