How can I get a files to syncronize from my computer to directory?

I have a file for a dealership that I work for that I would like to update on the internet as I edit it. I have it laying in a password protected directory on my webserver. What im hoping I can do is while im updating it after I save it, have it update and reflect in the web directory I have it set in! possible? should I have found something searching? am I an idiot =)

Better isp hosts will provide you with an online editor to make changes such as you describe. Not all hosts offer this, but for updating just a single file it's a good tool to have. Ask your host if they offer this.

I'll only seldomly use the tool mentioned above. Normally I'd use CuteFTP [cuteftp.com...] to xfer a file from my harddrive to the server because I develop and test locally and then upload when everything is running properly.

The problem with live html edits is that you can accidentally do something you don't want to ;(
