Getting Traffic

Hi,

I have a website which gets about 100 hits a day. The 100 hits are from a few postings and search engine.

My target is 250 hits per day focussed hits. This will meet my commercial requirements. Conversion rate is 2 sales for every 100 visitors.

BTW: We sell books with for a specific market.

My questions:

1. Should i tie up with an affiliate manager? Will it get me more hits to start with? What kind of increase should i look for?

2. Which affiliate manager can bring in a few basic hits atleast? I think shareasale is Ok because they do not charge unless there is a sale. Which also means they also need sales to occur for them to get a commission.

3. Does a paid inclusion in yahoo get us more hits?

4. Are there any other ways to promote Books? Amazon does not accept any merchant who is located out of US. Any other online sellers you guys are aware of?

Regards
Kris

Have you considered using adwords? I don't know what your margins on your sales are, but with a minimum bid of 0.05 $ and a sale for every 50th visitor, you only need to make more than 2.50 $ per sold book to make a profit.

Hi and welcome to webmasterworld!

Another thing you can do is add lots of relevant content to your site with the aim of getting more visitors from the search engines. Cheaper in the long run than Adwords and, I believe, more effective.
Good luck with whatever you do. Keep us informed of your tactics and results!

Hi,

Tried adwords. No results.

Margins on our books are good. I give $4 per book. There will be something left, after i deduct 10% for eMetrix.

Content is a logical and best option. I know.

Support from another source will help us to really push forward, as we are working on an all new book and that is the reason we are looking at an affiliate manager like shareasale or any other.
