Adding product data feeds to my site

I have a site that has good content on a niche subject and I have affiliate links to appropriate merchants. I now want to incorprate relevant products in a way that the products will be part of the site and therefore help with the seo front.

My Questions are:
1.Is the best way to achieve this via product feeds from affiliate programmes?
2.If so, I’m sure this has been done many time before. Is there a ready made programme to enable and manage this or do you guys build you own?

I think my requirements to edit and manage the feeds are:
a)Selection of either categories of product or individual products that meet the subject area
b)Merge feeds from 4 or 5 different suppliers and different affiliate companies.
c)Remove any product duplications from the different suppliers Ideally leaving a single instance of either the lowest priced item or best commission product.
d)Add seo data to product descriptions (is this a good idea). Add the same relevant sentence to all product descriptions.

Display on site options

1.Have a page of small images and product descriptions circa 15 per page with a buy now button which goes to the merchants site.
2.As one but a more info button, which contants a bigger picture and more product information, the “buy now” button would be on this page. Would this be a better option from an SEO perspective, or is it just extra work for little benefit.
3.Build a site in OS commerce or similar with a basket and take the orders myself and send them onto the merchants.

I know I have lots of questions and few answers, but I think this is one area I must get it right from the start.

I would also welcome correspondence from any of you guys or companies that would be interested in build this sort of solution for me, as it may be a bit beyond my technical abilities.

Thanks in advance
