Using pop up windows on a site

Is there a blocking problem? How to stop spiders?

I am using an onclick javascript command to open small windows (320x390 or so, it varies) to display a graphic of a product's box panel. The user has to click a link to open it.

1) Does this run into any pop up blocker issues? I haven't had any problem with my blockers, but should I worry about it?

2) Currently the pop up window is only the jpg. Should I make it an HTML page?

3) How do I stop spiders from following the pop up link (or won't they anyway)?

Thanks

Everyone is developing a popup blocker. Even if a user wants to see your popup they might not know how to deactivate all of their blockers. Besides the toolbars that block popups, new browsers also do it and some OS also block them. I would move away from popups.

As for keeping spiders away from it, just keep that html page in a directory blocked with a robots txt file.
