Please help me installing my forums

Hello,

I'm hosting a home server for no more than 30 users. I've already installed Apache, PHP and MySQL and the PHP and HTML part's working fine. Now I'm trying to arrange my forum with phpBB, but I need some help at this point. Can anybody give me a step-by-step documentation about doing this? I need in particular help with finding out my database settings.

Every help would be appreciated.

My excuse,

There's nothing about home servers in the documentation :(. Anybody had ever done this before? The phpBB 2 manual doesn't cover working with self-created databases. Do i need to create a database in the MySQL console? I've tryed to do MySQL > CREATE DATABASE forum;, but i get several errors when i try to install phpBB 2.

If i was by a hosting provider i had this information about 'database settings', but i'm not. I never have more than 3 users online symoultaniously so i really don't need paid hosting.

Help would be appreciated,

Hi ALeiden, I have phpbb set up on my home testing server and I am working on it at the moment, what errors are you getting?

First thing you want to do is install phpmyadmin @ [sourceforge.net...]

PHPMyAdmin? I also get errors when i'm trying to start that. If i try to start i get the following:
" MySQL said: Documentation
#1130 - Host '66-226.surfsnel.dsl.internl.net' is not allowed to connect to this MySQL server ". I have checked my config.inc.php file, but there's nothing left to change (i think). I'm not sure about 'localhost'. Can i use it just everywhere?
