How many ads to run for one Ad Group?

Hi,

I am new to Google Adwords. I understand the concept of split testing two ads in one Ad *Group to see which
one attracts more hits. Is it best to stick with
running only two ads at one time per Ad *Group?

I have four ads that I believe are good for
one of my Ad *Groups. How should I proceed?
Should I start with only two ads, see which one
gets more hits, then introduce another to
test it against the first "winner"? and so
on...? Or is it better to run all four at the
same time and see which one works best?

Hi,

I'm experienced with Google ADwords and I would give you some advises:

The best strategy (at my opinion)is to use all the four ads, but make sure that each one describes the web site/product with different words and that each one is set to be founded with different keywords .
In this way they will work complementarily and each one will contibute to increase the web site traffic.
If there is a "weak" ad, I advise you to review keywords and general settings to get more performances instead to remove it.
Moreover if you want you can target specific pages of your web site by setting the ad.

Keep in mind that you will pay attention also to the quality of the traffic.
I would mean that unnecessarily more visitors mean more business;you have to choose descriptions and keywords in order to attract specific visitors or to invite visitors to do specific actions:
For example,if my ad says simply : "cars" ,what does it mean? Am I a seller?Am I a factory?Am I a garage? Am I a collector?

while If I specify "car rental" I refer to a specific target.

Pay attention to that in order to optimize your investments.

Thank you Spector,

I appreciate your suggestions.
I understand you to say that in
one ad *group, you design different
ads to fit with different keywords.
At what point to you create a *new
ad group for that campaign? What
do you put in the new ad *group
that isn't already in your first
one?

Thanks again,

At my opinion,one ad Group it's more than enough;
Don't create other ad groups about the same site/product;it's unuseful and dispersive.
Concentrate your efforts on 3/4 ads in only one group, and if you will work well you'll see the results very soon.
Only keep in mind to deliver a message of uniqueness in your ads.
