I want to make a very simple website using Dreamweaver. The site should have a header and a border on the left side in the same color as the header. For example: [news.harvard.edu...]

(Except the top would have red going across also)

Does anyone know how to create something like this in Dreamweaver? Or do you know of a good site that I could learn how?

Thanks!

Ok...I kind of figured it out on my own. Problem is though that when I'm typing in the body of the page it's difficult to get to the next line. For example, say I have a line that goes:

Humpty Dumpty sat on a wall
(enter text)

I'm unable to hit 'ENTER' after wall and get to the 2nd line. Instead the cursor moves all the way to the bottom of the page. It's weird. Also, if I even try to go up to the line where it says (enter text)and try to tab over, it also goes to the bottom of the page instead of a little indent. What gives?

It's like the margins are screwed up when I try to type in the body. How do you set the margins in Dreamweaver?

To go down one line in Dreamweaver, hold down <shift> when you press <enter>. If you just press enter, it leaves a space between the lines.

You can't use the tab key to indent text in Dreamweaver.

You can edit the margins for the whole page by using the menu at the top of the screen. Modify > page properties.
If you've used a table to lay out the page, you can add some padding around the text by setting the table's padding or cell spacing.

Dreamweaver comes with some pretty good tutorials. Have you tried going through them? Help > Tutorials (in the top menu)

I'll do that. Thanks Belladonna.
