starting a resource website

I am thinking of starting an article resource website for all types of subjects. Can you tell me if posting my articles and other people's articles on different subjects would help me to get listed well in the search engines?

Yes, if you're providing useful content it will help you to get listed. This is what Google keep telling us although you wouldn't know it from the results they are producing at present.

Hi Andrea,

Posting articles is a great way to raise your rankings, however the problem is that you're saying it will be in a variety of topics. It's alot easier to get rankings if you focus on a specific topic and get articles for it.

And most sites that have articles will freely let you copy it as long as you post a link back to their site and state that that's where the original article came from.
