Hello, I have an affiliation site that is geared toward the newest gear and electronics out... The thing with my site is I show lots of thumbnail pictures with the item name underneath the picture... I hear a lot about getting up higher on the serps you need to have a lot of content... now my question is what type of content works better... I mean I do have the names for each product underneath the picture but do I need more of a description for better serps ranking.. the website is a great design and was made well but lacks a lot of description.. I figured the faster the customer gets to the merchant site, the better the conversions would be. thanks in advance

You may be right about getting them to the main site quickly. If you also had a page about each item, with pictures and detailed descriptions, they might place well on search engines and bring in additional traffic for you to send along.

thanks... without detailed descriptions will it be impossible to be placed well? I mean I do have a lot of product names under each picture and a section that lists all the brands...But I chose to get rid of the description page thinking that it is just another step for the customer to x out my page and not click on the item for the affiliation redirection to the merchant site
