Hello, I'm very new to this forum - have read obsessively for the past two days but it's entirely possible that this question is either in the wrong place or has been asked before. If so, apologies!

We've spent the last 12 month building up a monster of a database-driven site. The mantra then was 'content, content'. Now it's 'traffic, traffic' (hopefully leading smoothly to 'money, money') and I'm beginning to realise that the various stages should have been run more in conjunction...

Today I suggested our site again for the Yahoo directory (the standard, non-commercial option) and I was wondering if I could/should also suggest it for the regional directories, like Yahoo UK & Ireland or Yahoo Germany?

In the past I have found it to be a little quicker to suggest to your local yahoo. In my case Uk and ireland. They seam to be able to carry out a review quicker that yahoo.com

Once it is listed in a local yahoo it migrates into the main .com directory over time.

Thank you, Mack. Can I also post to more than one local Yahoo - e.g. if I live in the UK can I post to Yahoo Germany (in German)?

Hi again.

To be honest it makes sence to only add your site to your local yahoo (or the yahoo that is most relevant to your site) as for others like as you mentiones Germany. If your site is in German that would be a good idea.

Thanks Mack. You're right, that makes more sense. Thanks for helping along my slow thought processes... :)
