unable to log on to websites

please help! everytime i log on to amazon, google & toysrus , i always get a message that says "connection was refused when attempting to contact amazon " & i wont be able to access the said website. a weeek ago , it would direct me to "<snipped>" website but after i run the ad aware SE version, it doesnt direct to the <snipped> website but inteaed i get the "connection was refused...." please please help. your help is greatly appreciated . thanks.

You might want to sheck your hosts file. If you are running Windows XP it should be in the following location.

windows>system32>drivers>etc>hosts

There should be one entry for localhost. The rest you can remove. Save the file and restart your computer.

Have you tried a different browser, to check if the same problem occurs?
