I am considering moving my site KJP's Asperger over to doteasy from Angelfire but I want to know how to edit it and put and remove new things over once it is in there like Angelfire. Do any of you use Doteasy and could you tell me how?

Kevin,

You got me absolutely stumped, I do NOT have a Clue what your post is about.

maybe 1 of the other forums may be a better place to post this, as I think the Google forum may not be the best place.

If the web pages forming your site were written on your computer, stored on your hard drive, and then uploaded to your current site using FTP software, then all you need to do is change any details like new email address and so on, and then upload the pages to the new location.

If you do not have a local copy of your site, you will need to save all of the files (HTML and images, etc) to your local hard drive first. You can do this in your browser.

Someone showed my Doteasy and I signed up but he won't show me how to update my sites!

Well, you probably will have to get a little bit familiar with computers to be able to move your site, but don't worry, it's not that hard--you just have to be willing to experiment and don't get discouraged if things don't work the first time. Do some searches using your favorite search engine for phrases like "your first web site" and "html tutorial". By doing some searching, you'll be able to find a lot of "how to" information.

I also took a look at Doteasy and found this tutorial page on how to upload your site using FTP:

[doteasy.com...]

To follow these steps, you need the WS-FTP program. The page gives a link so you can download and install it.

PS--you have a very informative site!

This was the screen when I clicked on what you said
[webmasterworld.com...]

What next?

Kevin, you'd best contact their support people. If they're worth using, they'll respond and give you the information you need. If not, you need to know.

I haven't got a degree in Economics or something. I am not a bright man. All I want is to get my website transferred over. I have asked them several times. It is all double dutch to me, that is why I am asking more intelligent people than me to help. It beats me why google can keep child porn and bondage on their website yet can delete a site that is helping hundred's of people, but then again I will never understand this world and can't understand why no-one will help an unintelligent person like me over this. It seems you aren't bothered anyway.

Kevin if you're willing to give me the passwords to your new hosting I would gladly do it for you but otherwise you're going to have to do a bit of learning yourself. As it would take alot of time to tell you everything you have to do step by step.

No offense intended, but if you want to get from A to B with your car you better know how to drive. If you want to operate a website you would need to have at least some basic knowledge. There are hundreds of books and probably thousands of websites out there that will explain how to operate your own website.

I donīt really know what your reference to pornography or bondage in Google has got to do with your need to transfer your website to another host.

I'd like to point out that Internet Explorer has got a simple drag-and-drop ftp publishing function built in, if the prospect of learning how to use WSFTP is daunting.

Good luck Kevin, your site is very interesting.
