Strange Email Address

Is "@@@@@@@@@example.com" valid

I was just wondering if @@@@@@@@@example.com was a valid email address or if it was just by chance that my email client supported it.

My Mailprogramm (Mozilla Thunderbird) does not support this type of e-Mail address, and I am very sure it is not valid.

So far it has worked groupwise, pegasas and yahoo.

Multiple instances of @ are definitely forbidden in an email address - it is unlikely that, even if your email client accepts this address, any mail would reach it.

The "@" symbol being placed in more than one location would invalidate the email address.

On the web there are strict protocals for addressing servers and email addresses.

Like encyclo said it is very unlikely any email would reach the intended address. The main exeption is where a domain owner has set up a "catch all" for anything@domain. in this case it may work.

Cool, that explains it.
I own the domain and it "catches all" for anything@domain.
I will try to stop putting in one too many @'s.
