I need help setting up security for an intranet I'm working on. I could use any help I can get.

Is there a way to have their login same as their network login?

Sure, there's a ton of things you can do to share authentication schemes. If you're on a UNIX system, check out PAM and its related modules.

Don't make your intranet accessible from the web if you can avoid it. Use RFC1918 IP space.
