Bing traffic falling since Oct 2nd

My bing traffic has been pretty consistent and changed little over the years. However, as of October 2nd this year I am seeing a sharp decline. I checked the keywords for which I ranked well on Bing, and sure enough I lost many of them. It looks like Bing went in G's footsteps and now favors big sites at the expense of smaller blogs.

On some sites (such as searchengineland) it is claimed that this phenomenon started happening in July this year and is due to Bing swtiching its search over to HTTPS, so that a lot of Bing searches now appear as Bing referrals in GA. However, I do not see that in my GA, and for me the decline started only since Oct 2nd, not since July.

I also see my Yahoo and DDG traffic declining since Oct 2nd in a similar fashion, which is no wonder because they depend on Bing's results.

Have you seen any decline in Bing traffic for your sites lately?

Same thing with my site and on October 10, Bing totally blocked my site without any warnings or whatsoever. I have emailed them only to know that my site is listed under their 'spam' list. I am running the site fair and square. The only thing I noticed is there are 'spammy' inbound links. I disavow them and let's see what happens.

In September one of my websites was excluded from Bing's SERP. On October, 23 I noticed my three other websites were banned. Even if I type "site:example.com", there are no results. Just the link "Some results have been removed"

Hmmm.... something like that suggests (and I am NOT SAYING THAT IS SO!) possible shady practices or niche content that is no longer acceptable. We do live in interesting times, sad to admit!

MEANWHILE, do your raw logs show bing robot activity? If so, take a look at site, user experience, content, etc. to see what might be changed to get serp love back.

I forgot to mention that the initial reason of ban was "we saw that your site is under spam list".

I advise that everyone whose site has been banned contact Bing support using the Email form in Bing Webmaster Tools. Otherwise you will keep losing traffic from Bing.
