Microsoft has said there's a new range of Bing APIs for developers available for purchase. The new APIs include Search, Image search, Video search, and News search, Autosuggest, and Spell check.

It also reminds developers that there is an end-of-life for the existing Bing search and web results API of December 15, 2016.

  • Search across billions of web pages, images, videos, and news results, with the high performance and relevance you’ve come to expect from Bing, and which tech-industry leaders rely on.
  • Autosuggest services to improve accuracy and speed of user input in your apps and sites.
  • Leverage assistive services such as spell check and adult intent signal.
  • Access to trending topics including news, images and videos.
  • Ability to filter image and video results by size, license, style, and price.

Endpoint for V5 looks to be more succinct. Haven't had anyone ask me to set this up so it's beyond my understanding, but I can see this giving the webmaster community work.

MS has a pretty good business model in this sense. No one really owns their enterprise platforms, they just rent it until it no longer is supported, then they pay for the upgrades. Never really minded that fact with home installs of Windows OS, but for large companies this could amount to thousands.
