Page Index Dropping in Bing Search Engine

64% dropped in Bing search engines

Hi All,

Our website pages indexing dropped 64% in last 15 days in Bing and Yahoo search engines and we lost our rankings. we have contacted Bing webmaster support team and got replay no issues found.

Could anyone suggest me how to resolve this issue.

Review recent changes made, especially ones close to the time of the drop.

Bing is slower to crawl than G, so it may be more than a week or more you have to look back at major/minor changes.

Did some recent test that had a noindex header escape into the wild? Robots.txt change?

And where do the URLs drop, in the main index when you do a "site:" command or in webmaster tools. Check both and report back.

In Bing webmaster and site: both ways page indexing dropped. Still dropped daily.

How old is the site? How many pages? How often refreshed with new content (each page)? Asking since older sites (year or more) with evergreen content (pages with no changes), will eventually be known by the SE to skip in search of newer stuff. That is, if your 64% indexing drop is related to the actual index runs and number of pages indexed by the MS bot.

As for drop in the Bing search, are there new competitors in your niche nudging you down? No one is guaranteed a rank spot. After all, as they say in Highlander: There can be only one. (Number one)
