After falling victim to recent Microsoft layoffs, there's good news as Duane Forrester has been re-hired.

This really is excellent news for Duane and for the Webmaster community.

I'm very happy for Duane, and, yes, that is great news for all of us. Duane had become an important and valuable part of the community.

His blog post reports that there are going to be more people on board the outreach team, so it's not clear whether we'll see more of him here than before. I hope we do. He's a very savvy guy who cares, and I'm glad that Microsoft came to realize that.

Long term, this is also a wise decision by Microsoft.
