Crawl errors in webmaster tools all of a sudden?

Starting a few days ago, each morning I wake up to an email from Bing that tells me each site in my webmaster tools account has crawl errors similar to :

example.com
Crawl Errors 1

The key thing to note is they are the non-www versions and I only use the www and also redirect non-www to www in htaccess.

Anyone else experiencing anything like this?

Yes, I got an e-mail like that on Monday as well.

In the Message Center there is also a message for Crawl Errors. It has different text but it also is missing the www

You can still submit URLs this month for example.com


Site: http://example.com/

Date: 5/12/2012

Priority: Low

You still have remaining quota to submit URLs to Bing using the Submit URLs feature. This is a great way to quickly send new or updated pages to the index. How about submitting some URLs today?

Same here. Non-www throughout. But I think it's just a bing quirk, and they really do know what you're called.

Go to the My Sites page. Does that show each name in the correct form? Mine does. And if I pull one of their recorded search terms and feed it into bing dot com, they again give the right form of the sitename.

Same here, I'm essentially getting spammed by Bing. Wish they'd cut it out!

As of a few days ago it appears the quirk has been fixed - for me at least. I know longer get the non-www error any longer.

No, not fixed, I got one this morning as well as a different e-mail

A subject of "Come Back To Bing Webmaster Tools!"
But in the body it has

"Dear Webmaster,

Welcome to Bing Webmaster Tools!

The Bing Webmaster Tools Team is excited that you have signed up to see how Bing and Yahoo drive visitors to your website. Before you get started, we need to verify that you are the owner of your website."

A bit late to be excited about it and I fairly sure I did that verification thing when I signed up ages ago.

I can confirmed it's still not fixed - I'm still getting spammed by bing every single day with the same message, and nothing I can do about it!

Have you guys gone through and re-verified the sites? I did just for the heck of it and never had the issue again after doing so.

Did you delete the site-verification file? You have to leave it there forever-- same goes for anyone else with wmt, like google or yandex-- because they'll check it periodically.

Mihomes I tried that and it did actually work for a couple of weeks, with no more notices. Now it's back again the same as before and I haven't touched the site verification file after re-verifying.
Is Bingdude still around here?

I did not re-do the verification but it hasn't bugged me about that any more. However the original message has now been updated to the below showing three issues.

I think the Administrator one relates to a message about "You can still submit URLs this month for example.com". That's not an issue!

The Sitemaps one relates to a message suggesting I create one due to the fact I don't have one. Again not an issue.

And the Index Issues, is either
a) about some 404's it's getting, yep, those pages don't exist and no links lead to them either, I've blocked them in webmaster tools for now and see if that makes it remove it from it's index eventually.
b) Suggesting that a Query string URL that I already told it to ignore for indexing should be ignored for indexing.
Both again non issues.
