Should we just forget about getting ranked on Bing for now?

Bing is a joke to me - I think I may just forget about it for now. It's a waste of time to try to get ranked there.

Here's my experience: I start a new website, and within a month it is ranking on Google and Yahoo. But to get ranked on Bing takes about 9-12 months - regardless of how many backlinks are pointing to the site.

Does anyone else feel this way? How can a search engine be relevant if it doesn't rank new sites?

In my opinion it's worth the effort, because Bing will be providing search results for Yahoo and Facebook. They may also expand their capacity and improve their indexing to meet the increasing need.

I've had sites get indexed within a month, and others that take months.

Seems like its hit or miss as to how quickly they get picked up.

I would hope they improve in this area going forward.

In my experience it takes more time than Yahoo and Google for new sites but nowhere near 9 - 12 months.
