Site Map For MSN Only

Site MAP Msn

Greetings,
Looking for a little advice... It seems that MSN does not like our site. Cannot figure it out. We used to get tons of traffic - however, it is now down to a trickle. Things are ok in Google, Yahoo, and Ask. The only thing I can think is that MSN does not like our site map. In general, our site map is not structured well. However, I do not want to do a major change since it could impact our traffic with other SEs.

Here is the question, is it ok to create a new site map (cleaned up) for MSN and block the other SEs from this site map? I would also block MSNBOT from the old site map? Any opinions? Would like to know if I am breaking any rules.

Thanks.

I cannot see the point of making a new one for MSN, and keeping the bad old one for the others.

Why not make a new one and delete the old one?

Better for all visitors, better for all SEs.

Or am I missing something? :(

Hmmm... I want to keep the old one around for Google, Yahoo, and ASK. All is well with these SEs. If mess around to much, I am afraid I will upset the apple cart to much and lose traffic from those engines. Should I just accept that I will never rank in all engines?

If you are doing well, I cannot envisage any way that a new, better sitemap will hurt your rankings. How could it?

When a site disappears like this it's almost certainly because it's been blacklisted as spam -- either manually or automatically. Send e-mail to webspam at microsoft.com if you think your site was marked spam by mistake.

MSNDude,
Thanks for the tip. Will send email to the address you identified. Hoepfully they can help with the mystery. Used to get a good amount of traffic from MSN and then it pretty much stopped. Would like to get back in the good graces. Hopefully we have not done anything that would trigger a spam filter. Over the past few months we have limited down what MSNBOT sees. Some of our scripts could have been causing problems. However, at the current point we block MSNBOT from all of our scripts. Now we are just down to plain old content pages.

Appreciate your help and comments.

Thanks.
