Yahoo is going to do the billing for AdCenter

starting October 1st, I was just told billing at Adcenter will stop, and Yahoo is going to do the billing for them. am I the only one who thinks this is really strange? adcenter is going to run everything but the billing? it doesn't make any sense!

i have a feeling when the transition finally happened, there will be alot of pissed off advertisers. i am already. adcenter is a mess.

I have not heard this and just checked in the Adcenter console and I'd say who ever told you doesn't know what they are talking about.

Bing will be doing the billing and one change will be they no longer offer prepaid billing. Your card is billed as it meets its billing threshold.

That is straight from the transition facts in the adcenter console.

it's my understanding that for the month of october, yahoo is going to do the billing for both...then msn is going to take over once the transition is complete. apparently after 10/15, both yahoo and bing ads will be appearing on yahoo. i was told on oct 1st this new billing will go into affect. boy, i hope i heard this wrong but i don't think i did.

Your understanding is wrong. What your saying makes ZERO sense.

Why not try logging into the adsense panel and then reading the transition docs to dispel any rumors you may be believing.

Yahoo is not going to be billing anything.

i am on a prepaid with yahoo. Even there when you go to add funds you get a message saying "All billing for your account's activity across Microsoft Advertising adCenter and Yahoo! Search Marketing will be managed by Yahoo! starting in October. Please contact your Account Manager if you have any questions. "

my guy told me they were going to bill for both yahoo and msn...and yahoo was going to pay msn.

i guess we'll see, but this is what i was told.

I'm on prepaid with Yahoo & post pay with MSN.
I don't want Yahoo billing me.
I guess I'll just remove all the credit cards from the Yahoo account

Also my account has been on pause for months with Yahoo.
The last time the money ran out I didn't put in any more.
I'll really be pissed if they try to reinstate it.

Your Yahoo! accounts will remain open for an extended period of time. Following the transition to adCenter, you will continue to have access to the last 13 months of your Yahoo! Search Marketing account reporting and history. Eventually, your Yahoo! account will be closed.

About Yahoo! prepaid accounts
Unlike Yahoo! Search Marketing, Microsoft adCenter does not require you to prepay your advertising costs before your ads appear.
When you use the adCenter transition tool to move your Yahoo! account to adCenter before October 2010, you'll receive either a credit or a refund equal to the remainder of your Yahoo! prepaid balance, as follows:

Balance of $25 or more: In November, your adCenter account will receive a credit.
Balance of less than $25: In early 2011, you will be issued a refund.

Like I said, Yahoo itself is not going to be billing anything. The charges will come from Bing.

i understand what you are saying. i guess we will see. for part of october...i was told bing and yahoo will be running ads on yahoo (splitting somehow). that is why yahoo told me they were doing the billing for both msn and yahoo in october.
maybe this just applies to accounts like mine. i didn't use the yahoo transition tool. we will see, believe me, i want to do things your way...but my yahoo rep explained it to me exactly the way i'm telling you. i hope he's misinformed.

well....looks like we were both kind of right. yahoo is doing the billing, but thru msn.
whatever your billing plan was with yahoo is now live at msn.
i was on a prepaid plan with yahoo...so this morning i had to start prepaying my msn balances. my account went offline for a bit...so i added funds and it's now live. they say this billing method with be active until the end of october.

this is a dumb system if you ask me. if you are on a prepaid plan with yahoo and if you're wondering why your bing ads aren't showing this morning..just go to your msn billing center and add funds to your account.
