i am promoting a lot of different types of clothing. my ad title runs as follows:

{keyword} clothing 50% off

is that the correct way to capture the keywords in my keyword list? will that then show

polo clothing 50% off
armani clothing 50% off

etc...

?

thanks for the help

For me, MSN is not very good at using the keyword insertion (much less good at anything else).

For my ads, I just use {keyword}- in the headline - with no other text. I'd think you'd run out of room if you used {keyword} +clothing 50% off.

I haven't had any luck using alturnate text like I do in Y! and G. I.e.

{KeyWord:50% Off Clothing!}

I wish I could help you more, but you're some what limited in MSN when it comes to keyword insertion.

But, to answer you question, yes - in theory your ads should work, but in practice - it's up to MSN to display them correctly.

Put them in an AdGroup and test it out, it's the best way to determine.

Hi All

Dynamic Text Insertion on adCenter has so much more functionality than simply adding {keyword} to your ad.

It can be used to associate text with particular keywords & ad copy or URL parameters.

Perfect for the retail and travel sectors where you maybe dealing with multiple prices, products or destinations.

Check out the link below to our Help section where you can read about and see a video on adCenter Dynamic Text

Any questions just post back.

Cheers

exactly. I found that you must use {keyword} only in order for AdCenter to be useful. Because it does not allow you to use 'alt text' I am unclear on what happens if the keyword phrase is longer that 25 characters or if their is a trademark restriction in the name / keword?

example: drug names can have restrictions. If I can not use alternative text then will my ad run if there is a restriction that the drug name can not be displayed in the ad?

If your ad text goes over the limit, it will not be shown...MSN should begin using alt text.
