What percentage of people will rotate fm portrait to landscape

I have a couple of joomla 2.5 sites where they are optimized for desktop viewing. In many cases, they look OK in the landscape mode of a phone but don't look as good in the portrait mode (right side gets clipped)

I was wondering if anyone had any clue as to what percentage of mobile users are savvy enough to think "Uh, I can't see the stuff on the right in portrait, I'll rotate my phone to landscape? "

I would expect that the respnsiveness would be much better under Joomla 3.x so it doesn't warrant a whole lot of work redoing things right now. That is especially true if it seems that a significant number of users will think to view in portrait mode.

If it seems that not many people will do that, I'll consider one of the extensions that detects mobile users and try popping a message "Best viewed in the landscape mode"

A few days ago I saw an image somewhere of an ape in a zoo cage playing with a smartphone. I think he had it figured out, he was holding it in landscape mode.
