I am having some really wierd behavior. My site ranks super high on my system, but no one elses? Occassionaly if I search for a term it also does not show up on my system, but then when I click search a second time viola! it appears in the second position on some very competative terms. What is going on here?
The site is an expose site on intelligence matters so I am rather freaked at the occurance. Does this have to do with who the site is messing with or does this occur "naturally" as a function of how google works?

The advice Receptional gave you in this thread [webmasterworld.com] is good. It's possible you are using a data center that is experimenting with different algorithms to rank results.

It's not necessarily true that you are seeing "the future" ranking but it is possible.

Is the "super high" pagerank perhaps 8?

I have gotten pagerank of 8 reported for various pages by a Dashboard widget when copying and pasting in an URL. When I went back and looked at the URL, it was preceded by a "# ". Delete that and the pagerank went back to normal.

He's saying his actual SERPs are different, not a pagerank checker.
