No doubt that a IMAC is the coolest PC out there, but is there a frontpage program for mac and can you add Terratec sound card to it to get a good sound also, I want this computer to be fully Multimedia, control the music/movies for 3-4 rooms with Quality. Also I want to be able to use Frontpage on it.

Frontpage is available for Mac OSX

no you can't change the sound card, what's wrong with the one in the iMac?

zues, I don't mean to be condescending, but why would you want to use Frontpage on any platform, nevermind Mac? It puts out some of the worst code out there and MS recently stopped development.

About frontpage I have always used it, I think thats the reason and I tried Dreamweaver but I think it was to complicated.

A new sound card, well I need REAL qualitynot only a 128bit sound.

Q. Is there a FrontPage product for the Macintosh?

A. No. The last version released for the Macintosh - Microsoft FrontPage 1.0 for the Mac - is no longer available.

Recomendations to webdesign tools.

Some of the more popular WYSIWYG and Web Design Tools for the Macintosh are...

  • Adobe Creative Suite (CS2)
  • Adobe GoLive (in CS2)
  • Dreamweaver (in CS2 Package Deal)
  • Home Site
  • nVu

There are others. Those are the ones I see mentioned the most with Adobe CS2 being the new King of everything. Adobe bought Macromedia so now you can get the entire package for just under $2,000 USD and it includes absolutely everything you'll need. In fact, you'll never leave the computer! :)

Frontpage CAN be used on a Mac

just because MS discontinued it does not mean you can't obtain a copy of it and use it.

I found it from Amazon sellers for less than $100 and while it does not appear in current listings on eBay, a copy of it sold for 99cents in completed listings

(I guess that gives you some idea of its actual value...)

The iMac has a digital optical audio out port on the back. Last time I asked my local Apple Store genius, that port puts out 5.1 stereo sound.

I'm having trouble finding the precise specs of the included sound card anywhere, but I am also fairly certain it cannot be swapped out.

hmm then nobody knows if there can be added a new sound card like Terratec Aureon firewire or other.

Also maybe its time to change to Adobe CS

It's possible to plug in USB/Firewire sound cards. Check out Griffin Technology Firewave (5.1), M-Audio Sonica Theater (7.1), and Hercules Muse (5.1).
