Sorry for the distinctly low-level nature of these enquiries, but I'm having to provide support to MAC users for the first time, and they keep asking questions I don't know the answer to!

Here's today's...

"How do you turn the volume up on an IMAC OS9"?

OS 9.1: Apple Menu -> Control Panels -> Sound -> Output

I'm not using an iMac, but that's where the sound controls have been for a long time on every other Mac I've used (tho' it used to be the "Monitors & Sound" control panel...).

The Apple Menu is found via the little Apple icon in the top left corner of the screen. Output is one of the tabs in the Sound control panel.

You can also give them the address of Apple's support site, as it doesn't sound like this is a part of your normal job responsibilities. ;)

There's also the little 'pull-out' menu located in the bottom left of the iMac window. This includes all sorts of controls - sound, screen resolution, file sharing, iTunes, etc.
(I think this is available as default - certainly I've never gone searching for info on how to activate it).

Ahh... the control strip. Forgot about it, as I deactivate the annoying little thing first thing when setting up a machine. ;)

ROFL... I never thought webdesign was a back door to becoming a general computer tech... but even my boss asks me first when he needs help... and he uses Windows. LOL
