Is Safari lacking support for Javascript

While working on a shopping cart that uses a lot of Java to recalculate an order once it has been change (products added, taken away, etc) I found a bit of a problem. The button to add a new line for adding a product to a customers order completely does nothing when selected. This is also true for a button to recalculate. However, Firefox uses these to functions like a champ without any issue. Is anyone aware of Safari lacking some Java support that FireFox is not? Or is there a setting I can change within Safari to better support Java?

This has been an ongoing problem with Safari, there are many sites that we use to generate affiliate reports that which not be used with Safari, we keep IE 5.1 around for those.

Since upgrading to Safari 2.0, I have not had any problems with javascript. Previous versions of Safari are known to have poor support of javascript functions.

we're using 2.0.3 and it still does not play nice with many different web sites...

It might just be incorrect terminology, but the original poster asked about Java, not Javascript - they are as similar as chalk and cheese...
Java, of course, is part of the machine's infrastructure, not the browser's.

Well, the title says "Javascript" and the post says "Java" so I'm not sure what aaronjf meant. I'll figure it was Javascript.

I'm can't think of any specific Javascript functions. I tried taking a look at the last years worth of Safari related posts in the Javascript forum at WebmasterWorld [google.com]. Most of what I see is misunderstandings about the DOM and folks using IE-only functions.

Or is there a setting I can change within Safari to better support Java?

Not on your machine, and even if there was, you wouldn't be able to affect the settings on your clients' machine.

I was refering to Javascript, per the subject line. It is for a backend administrative area. I would not be concered with exterior users.
