The Mac finally catches up with the Windows platform with the first beta releast of Opera 6.0 for the Mac. V6 is a major update from previous versions of Opera on the Mac.
Wow... looking good on the changelog. Of course, it's a beta release, and the Known Issues list is a bit much for me to swallow for everyday use. Hopefully, they'll get the final version released this year though!

I downloaded it earlier, looks promising. felt a bit too slow, I also had a few crashes - hey, its still in beta, can't complain

Pages look very nice in this IMO. It is a bit slow for everyday use -- but I am looking forward to the final release. This has a lot of promise.

>>I also had a few crashesI had too. Increasing allowed memory worked some magic on stability. Surprisingly, it added support for a third party 4 button mouse. (did not work before)I like it a lot, it is getting closer to it's windows version.

Installed the newest Mac 6. full beta this morning. This is much faster than the beta1 I tested before. This is as fast as Mozilla is but not quite as quick as Chimera. The speed improvment makes this usable. It has some quirks with forums and posting forms which I hope they hammer out.I will have to test this over the next week but it might be good enough to make my defauilt browser.I was going through withdrawals. :)
