Weird Text Rendering

First of all apologies if this is in the wrong section.

My manager has upgraded to Mac OS 10.4.2. Since then the company's web site menu bar text has changed. It is simply Verdana but bold. Since the upgrade the font now looks 'fatter'. Funny thing is the main text looks the same.

We have tried the site in several browsers but they all look the same. We also checked on other Macs with 10.4 and they are rendering the text correctly. Anyone have any ideas on how to solve this? Anyone else have this problem?

I know that it is a local problem and may or may not affect outside users, but it is bugging him intensely and me having no answer is making me look bad.

And changing to a PC is not an option.

Thanks
Iggy

Dfrag,

I assume you meant that the menu bar is html text..., if so, what fonts are being used, is it just Verdana? Or is it something like:

<font face="Verdana, Helvetica, Geneva, Arial, SunSans-Regular, sans-serif">

Also, what browser and what was he using previuos to the upgrade?
