I don't know if this is something to worry about or no.

One our XServes runs with all (both rows) of its blue indicator lights lit. They light up starting from the left until they are all lit. The machine seems to be working normally except for this.

I haven't found any resource that tells me "all about your XServe's" light -- just stuff about setting the startup mode.

BTW, sorry, I don't know when this started -- it's been this way since I've arrived at my new job last month.

Sounds like the Processor is beinghit hard as the server processes start up, heres a quote from the Xserve Manual.

System activity:
Blue Two rows of eight LEDs; in a server with one processor, rows of lights work in tandem; in a dual-processor server, rows operate independently for each processor.

Source: [docs.info.apple.com ]

I would look into the running processes and see what is going on if this is not expected.

Edit Reason:Add more

Bingo. Thanks TR.

Yes, it was a good thing to get that fixed: 96% of the XServe's processor cycles were going to something it did not need to do (because of a previous misconfiuration).
