ImageReady - problem with slices and page layout

I have made some images in photoshop as foundation for a web site and I am currently building and optimizing it in ImageReady. In making rollower buttons and other finesses I experience problems after saving optimized as html - the page comes up as garbled and the images are torn to peices. I can not understand what I have done wrong... For instance the backround elements as well as the text box does not appear, only the slices that are blue and active - what then about the slices that are grey and inactive - how can I bring them out so that the whole page works together and displays as meant to be...?

All helpful hints appreciated as this challenge is driving me mad!

Thank you

when you export from imageready, check that 'selected slices only' is not selected.

Thank you for replying so soon, however Iīm afraid you do not understand me correctly - pherhaps I didnīt explain good enough. The reason why I use ImageReady is that I want to optimize the pages made in photoshop for web, by adding active buttons and links and saving optimized as. When I do this the html preview does not display all the layers, only the active slices - thus the page is garbeled.

Is there any way to post attachements? It would be great to show you a screenshot to illustrate my problem.

THANK YOU! Following your hint - in saving optimized as I chose "all slices" instead of "all user slices" and it now diplays correctly - so far so good. I will see if it will work on the following pages as well.

:-( It worked and now it is all a mess again.... I am about to give up as this is very frustrating!

It obviously has something to do with the slices. As soon as I make just one slight change it effects everything else. The graphics is all out of place and dragged out of proportion. I have searched the net and tutorials and adobe for answers without any luck... Please help

Thank you

Becki,

Everytime you make a change, us the "Save Optimized As" command in the File menu. Then, under Settings, choose "Other"... then choose the Saving Files pop up at the top of the menu and make sure "Put Images in Folder" is checked and choose a new folder EACH TIME YOU MAKE CHANGES.

What is happening is that you are changing some things that the HTML is referencing and not others. What I have mentioned above wil create ALL new graphics in a new folder that you then will reference with your HTML.

Hope this helps.....
