In 10.4.2, where do Safari Plug-Ins go?

Trying to locate the right directory....

I just downloaded the most recent version of the Windows Media Plug-in and place it in the following locations:

User/Library/Safari
User/Library/Internet Plug-Ins
MacHD/Library/Internet Plug-Ins

and Safari still is not seeing it. The web pages such as CNN say "Plug In Not Found".

The free standing app works fine... so maybe I'm missing something?

It doesn't have an installer? Does the readme include directions for installing for different browsers?

gregg....

It does have an installer, but it did not install the plug ins, just left them in a folder. I made copies and put them in the previosly mentioned directories and nada.....

Now some web pages give an error message and do nothing, other web pages give an error message but then launch the seperate viewer app, but never does it play the video in the browser window ala quicktime.

I just did the install of the WindowsMediaInstaller.bin and Safari and Firefox were happy...is Firefox able to view the content? I had to unstuff it with Stuffit Expander to get it to work, as I recall.

Also...if you go to the help menu to "Installed Plug-Ins" does it list anything related to Windows Media Plugin?

(Your "Enable Plug-ins" checkbox didn't get deselected, did it? Safari->Prefs->Security. Just a thought...)
