- /etc/hosts file was eradicated (should have backed up first); and
- Ctrl+space was gazumped by Spotlight (fixed in Preferences)
Other than that, Apache (with dozens of vhosts), PHP5, ImageMagick, and basically everything I rely on is working perfectly. Terminal's a lot better behaved, and no longer locks up if you paste a lot of text.
Just about to try writing a Widget ;)
I now have it running on an old 500Mhz iBook and a G5 Dual 2G. No problems at all. I will be doing the rest of my office's installs Monday morning.
However, I am an "early adopter" of Photoshop CS2. Got my copy coming Tuesday! :)
What a killer though, this version of OSX holds some usable features like spotlight. I should just take the dive!?
Finally you know what burns me? For the last 2 weeks I have seen these M$ OS commercials, yet Apple never markets their OS? I don't even want to rant about this, but it kills me how much they lack in promoting their product.
Anyhoo here is to Tiger! Can't wait!
The one G5 tower (single processor) we've installed on hasn't seen any real change in speed, faster or slower.
I really like Mail. Already have some smart folders set up. I think Spotlight + Smart Folders is going to be huge. Definitely the biggest feature for me.
Made the mistake of installing all the language packs. Argh.
Safari is ok, but doesn't really excite me that much... at least not enough to switch back from Firefox. I'll continue to play with it though.
All in all, initial impressions are good.
"Nice" to have a dock which is now so big it doesn't fit any sort of display....
That apart, sweet as a nut. Though since most nuts are savoury, I'm not sure I ever understood that phrase...

This is on my powerbook 1.33 12in.
On my G5 dual processor - the account I installed/ did the upgrade with is corrupted. Meaning on login to the affected account it loads all resources but doesnt load the finder so you cannot control anything except the mouse.
Luckily I installed webmin as a backup ui to root and was able to add another administrator account to save the rest of the server.
Best of luck to you.....

Give it 3 or 4 days and this stops happening. I have no clue why initial use of Safari under Tiger will do this, but it does go away.
I've had Tiger installed since two days after its release. Safari can't connect problems still linger and what's worse ... Safari quits unexpectedly and often.
Its ticking me off! So far, I am not impressed. My G5 fan sounds like a jumbo jet just before lift off when it is downloading big pages.
Lots of other little issues as well. Am trying to get them sorted out but I would say "hang fire" if you haven't already installed it. There are too many bugs just now. Once operational, I hope I will enjoy Tiger. Right now ... not so much! :(
