it started kernel panicking after restarting it a couple days ago, it got kixed for the most part by starting it in safe mode, but then i tried to play a marble blast, and it panicked again. so i tried that a few times and every time it did the same thing. i contacted support again, and they recommended that i run the extended hardware test. i ran the extended apple hardware test and right when it finished it kernel panicked, with the screen sort of pixelated. i could make out that there was an error, but couldn't read it. i contacted apple support and the person reccomended taking out the different rams and running hardware test again to see if it was the ram, but then i did some more research on kernel panics and found out about the panic.log. here is the last log entry (they all seem to be pretty much the same) i noticed the stuff in there about nvidia and gefroce so i think it might have something to with the display, but i have no idea what to make of all the numbers and stuff.

I haven't changed any of the hardware since i got it a few months ago, except for the extra 256 mb ram i had put in at the mac store.
thanks
First thing is first. Ditch Apple's Hardware tester. Buy yourelf a copy of techtool. This will save you in the future ;0)
Second, did you try pulling the "aftermarket" RAM chip? This actually could be causing the problem.
Third, remove ALL third party items, USB, Firewire, second internal HD, EVERYTHING but what is neccessary to run the PC. Pretty much Mouse, Keyboard & Monitor.
If all else fails, you will may be looking at a new display card. If you have one just sitting around, you could swap it out and see if this makes a difference.
TechTool should catch any defects in the card though.. I recommend getting ahold of a copy and running it's tests.

<added>Faulty graphics cards in the G5 are not uncommon... just another tidbit ;0) </added>
I had a similar problem in my imac G4. I'd first do as Zak suggests, especially if your extra RAM is Kingston. Even though it is a reputable company, I have been told that their RAM can apparently cause conflicts with the imacs.
If this doesn't solve the kernel panics, or your screen continues to become pixelated, then it probably your video card, which means that you'll need to take it to an Apple authorized service agent to get the logic board replaced. The good news is that as you just bought your Mac a few months ago, the new board will be covered under AppleCare.
Good luck!

I too am having problems with kernel panic, crashing, not starting up properly, freezes and of course my display screen (20") has had a problem since the first week. I took delivery on February 17 and have had nothing but trouble.
I am really disappointed in my G5 and am getting ready to send everything back to Apple to get fixed but first I have to buy a laptop so I can still operate. :(
