Apple® today announced that more than 100,000 copies of Mac® OS X version 10.2 “Jaguar” were sold worldwide during its first weekend, setting a new record for Mac OS sales for a single weekend. More than 50,000 people visited Apple’s 35 retail stores during Friday night’s “100 Minutes of Jaguar” launch event.
My family members are arteests doncha know and get-togethers some times turn talk to computers and I have to lower my gaze and do the dishes. I pushed my Mac hard for ten years! I tried my best, I did! But there is no mercy.
And I do miss things like this kind of Jaguar promotion, and their current ad campaign with those regular looking people. I hit my forehead on the desk, snap the pencil and murmur, 'Service Pack1', 'Service Pack2', 'Service Pack1', 'Service Pack2'
Aside from The Greatest Story Ever Told, is the Greatest Story Rarely Told: and that is the story of how one day, in their frustration, the development staff at a huge well-known multinational corporation invited Mr J and his hippie freak friends over and let loose the secrets of GUI.
I hope the Jag Promo works out, I hope it kicks all methods of what - you - sit on. Bring me back to the light!
If you want to run Windows software on a Mac, you can use some Windows emulation software.
Works just as bad as a real PC, so there is no garantee it will eliminate restarts. At least, you wont have to restart the whole box, just re open Windows on the Mac like any other program.
Did I missed something about the question?
Apple's Jaguar Leaps Ahead of Windows
The good old days are here again: The new version of OS X once more gives Macs clear superiority in operating systems
In Apple's 'Jaguar,' Upgrades Quick and Mighty
Jaguar is the desktop that Linux should have had. I mean, don't get me wrong, KDE3 is very cool if you soup it up a bit, and I'm really enjoying GNOME2 on my actual cooker-based workstation. But OS X, and Aqua, have an elegance and refinement that KDE and GNOME are just lacking. [...] Which leads me to believe that Linux has no future on PPC hardware as a desktop. Apple has that covered.
Jaguar: New Mac operating system a well- stuffed breed
Mac OS X offers more reason to switch
I am getting the 'family' pack soon. (lets you install it on 5 boxes for 200 $)
thanks for your help
No problem here. You can even download Open Office for Mac. This FREE software will let you play with all MS office documents without the outrageous fees.
>>ACT 6.0 brand new software but im sure there is no MAC version
With the money saved with Open Office, you can afford many licenced copies of some Windows emulator and run most Windows software you are used to on a single box.
Check the ACT site about compatibility with Windows software emulation for Mac to be sure.

Please tell more!
My understanding was that the Windows GUI was developed by the Xerox corporation.
OpenOffice.org 1.0 for Mac OS X: Developer Build is out just now, be aware that it isn't really finished, [porting.openoffice.org...] but it looks to me that they are putting the foot down.
Except the guys in the office won't be upgrading because it's not native compatible with many of the software packages we use... mainly quark.
Thanks Apple.
Quark is simply a corner stone of the print industry. According to Quark, some native copy is on the way.

But what about the plug-ins (or XTensions), will they lag behind just like for Photoshop 7?
We recently purchased a print server for our office, with OSX installed, and immediatly we had to change the startup disk to go strait to OS9, only because running OSX would have meant also loading OS9 to run our RIP software.
Too bad they couldn't implement the emulation of OS9 more gracefully.
I'm really excited about the cross-platform networking.
