I've been using a mac for just over two years. I switched over from Windows because I bought into the whole mac thing.

Great. Problem is, the G4 doesn't boot properly & now my 17" Studio Display (TFT) is having backlight problems. It's on the way out I think. I rang Apple UK support & they said I could go get lost. They want pretty much the price of a new monitor to repair my 'old' one.

The monitor is TWO years old...I don't think that two years use out of a monitor is even close to being good enough.

I'm not sure I understand what you mean when you say it won't boot properly.

do you have DiskWarrior? If not, now is the time to get it.

Yes, more details please. What boot problems are you experiencing?

I am also curious about this.

What is your current Mac OS system version?
