MySQL 4.1 vs. Front ends

Front ends not working after upgrades

I upgraded MySQL on my Titanium PB from 4.0 to 4.1, and everyting seemed fine until I tried to get a front-end app working.

Navicat boots up fine, but when I open a database, no list of tables appears.

CocoasMySQL won't connect at all.

Both these apps claim to work with MySQL 4.1. But I'd downgrade to 4.0 if I were confident that would help.

Any suggestions are welcome.
