Another item of note for mac users and webmasters, the next Mac OS (Tiger) was previewed today and includes a new app named
Spotlight [apple.com] which "searches" (as opposed to the boring old "finds") EVERYTHING on your computer. It uses some thingy called an "
integrated metadata search engine [apple.com]" whose list of indexable file formats curiously leaves out HTML.
Of course, G and MS are rumored and stated, respectively, that a desktop search app is in the works. Will Apple's be the template and what do you think the odds are that the internet is going to creep into this app by the time it's released? ;)
