When Jony Ive, Apple’s influential design leader, exited the company in 2019, Tim Cook, its chief executive, reassured customers that Mr. Ive, the man who gave the world candy-colored computers, would work exclusively with the company for many years.

I'd call this a happy ending. I worked with designers and learned a lot from them. The ones who care about the reader, the user, are the ones who have my respect. That was Ive, although there are those to have reasonable questions about the end result. But, his goal was always to be user-friendly.

Apple had these concepts, but Ive and his team turned them it into physical things, with attention to detail. Put an iPad or iPhone next to any of its competitors and there is this difference. There is, as the French say, je ne sais quoi.

To me, Apple ended when Steve Wozniak was no longer an active member of it.
