Report: Apple Pay Might be Getting QR Code Payments

There's a report that Apple is working on QR Code or bar code payments for Apple Pay in iOS 14, according to 9to5Mac.

Users will point the iPhone camera at a QR Code or traditional barcode to pay bills and other things with a card registered with Apple Pay.

If this is adopted it could make payments much faster and, importantly, easier. I do wonder about security protocols to avoide abuse.

Oh my we might catch up to Asia and Africa in mobile payment tech... of course I expect entrenched credit card and bank enterprises to keep fighting for the status quo.

Note: Chinese companies are currently testing doing away with QR code and mobile payments entirely via scanned biometrics...

Asia, not just China, is doing to the ‘west’ what the US did to Europe... and the shocked self righteous pity poor us rhetoric is strikingly reminiscent...
