Apple has updated its Intelligent Tracking Prevention (ITP) in iOS and iPadOS 13.4 and Safari 13.1 on macOS to block all third-party cookies by default. In other words, no cross-site tracking is permitted.

Safari continues to pave the way for privacy on the web, this time as the first mainstream browser to fully block third-party cookies by default. As far as we know, only the Tor Browser has featured full third-party cookie blocking by default before Safari, but Brave just has a few exceptions left in its blocking so in practice they are in the same good place. We know Chrome wants this behavior too and they announced that they’ll be shipping it by 2022.

Do not infer that this means you're not being tracked.

Is this Safari's version of the Firefox and Chrome recent mods re: third party?

Hello,

It doesn't need to be "Intelligent" to block ALL third-party cookies, it's not like if there was an AI behind deciding which cookies are okay, and which are not :)

Since I don't use Safari thanks for the info.

Meanwhile, browsers have long had the ability to disable third party (years and years and years), it is the disabled by default that is new in recent times.
