Ten Years of the iPhone

I can't believe it's been ten years since the iPhone was launched. It revolutionised the phone market, and it also seemed to surprise many tech companies that appeared to be slow to recognise the possibility, and even then to react to the arrival of the technology.

I have never owned an iPhone, but did get one of the early Android smartphones, and it made my work life much more effective. Since then, the technology has moved on considerably, the power in today's smartphone is quite phenomenal.

iirc, right after the launch a news item came out that Apple did not own the trademark on iphone.

Apple quickly made a deal with the other company to buy the trademark. it was a big company (maybe Intel?)

Didn't Apple lose a trademark claim in China over iphone? I've slept since then but think the company was in leather goods. :)
