OS X ASCII Text Editor

What is a good one

Any one have suggestions for a good ASCII Text Editor that is OS X compatible?

What do you want to edit?

For config files I use vi. Notes and what not I use textedit. Both come installed with OS X.

I use BBEdit for everything, I wouldn't use anything else it has all of the features I would think of using.

xPad is a nice simple application. dirt cheap as well.

It is for dealing with SSL certs.

BBEdit, definitely. Though I myself, since I haven't yet purchased BBEdit, use TextEdit and vi. TextEdit for perl or anything else, so long as it's not an HTML file (TextEdit doesn't display HTML files properly). Vi for the webpages.

If you happen to have Apple's developers' tools, there is an OS X version of Simpletext that seemed to work well for editing, though I seem to remember that it wasn't very stable.
