Access Mac via VNC

I'm not sure whether this would be possible, but I figure that someone here will set me straight ;)

I would like to test my webpage designs on a Mac, and just found out that my company's PR Dept. has one, but it's in another city. We do have a frame-relay network between the offices so I assume I could technically access this machine. However, I have no idea how I would do this. I have various Windows machines that I am able to access and control via VPN software (like WinVNC). Is there something like this out there that would work from a Windows machine to let me control a Mac?

Check out Timbuktu from Netopia. It might do what you want...

Timbuktu looks like it will work, but it sure isn't cheap. Are there any other options for accessing your Mac remotely?

If you had another Mac, you could use some other apps, but...well, if you had another Mac, you wouldn't need the remote access. It seems there is a version of a VNC being developed, but it may be old. You can start here:

Ever thought about getting an older Mac for testing? If you got an older iMac, for example, it would not take up much room, it would be cheap, and it would run OS X and OS 9. It would be much cleaner than trying to contol someone else's computer via internet. Just a suggestion...

Funny you should mention that..I just spent my lunch break looking at some previously owned Macs...They cost about as much as the Timbuktu software ;) Space is an issue for me now so maybe a halfway functioning powerbook will pop up.

That VNC link seems to be just what I was looking for though. I'm going to see if I can get that to work. Thanks! <edit>Oops...spoke too soon. That looks like it's just a VNC viewer. To access the Mac from my PC I'll need the Mac to be running the VNC server. bummer<edit>

I was just digging around following that Chicken of the VNC link that Slone provided. It turns out that is just a VNC viewer for the Mac as well.

I just found the OSXvnc site was going to come back here and ask if anyone knew about it...and found danec's comment. Thanks all. Now I have to figure out how to get someone at the remote site to install this...in Japanese....this should be fun.
