Apple released its first iMac on Aug. 15, 1998.

I was there, bought an iMac at CompUSA. Dragged a friend along who was visiting from out-of-state. My wife put our iMac T-Shirt on our baby son, and we got our picture on MacCentral.

Lots of Apple fans were there, including some folks who weren't aware they should have pre-ordered. Still, no-one was upset. Seemed like everyone was amazed they weren't the last Mac user around.

IMHO, it was the day that Apple Computer was reborn.

We bought ours a year later and used it as a web-server with WebStar, ListStar and Rumpus.

Yep those were the good ol' days, no sleep, no friends, no life... but good money.
