Airport Port Mapping Problem

Original graphite Airport not cooperating

I've been trying to set up my old (graphite, one ethernet jack) Airport to do Port Mapping with no success.

When I set it up so that everything "looks good" it times out when I try to access the site. (If I introduce an error to the setup and try to access the site with a browser, then I quickly get back a "site not available" error.)

(If I set my Airport aside and set up my iMac to do PPPoE directly, there's no problem accessing the site.)

Any hints are appreciated. TIA.

If anyone experienced something like this on an old Airport and solved the problem by upgrading their hardware, I'm interested in your story.
