Apple Remote Desktop Issue.

Hi everyone, I know a similar question has previously been asked, however it's past it's edit state, so couldn't add any questions to the thread.

I've got Apple Remote Desktop 3 and 5 client machines that I would like to manage.
5 client machines are on the same LAN, with a static IP address.

Would I need to use VPN to make ARD think it was sitting on my LAN network? Which means there is really no limit to the number of clients I can be connected to. (presuming bandwidth works well for it)

I had thought about remotely accessing my router, changing the port forwarding, but this would mean that I would need to do it for each client?

If I was to use a VPN connection, I could use my PowerBook on my LAN and remotely using VPN without having to make any changes other than the VPN connection?

Any help is appreciated.
